As part of our Youth Arts Institute and in partnership with Young Audiences Arts for Learning Connecticut, Connecticut’s VSA Arts* affiliate, Charter Oak offers Arts for All.  Through Arts for All, we offer three inclusive arts programs:

•    Shared Ability Dance: A movement and dance class for children with disabilities and their typically developing peers which will allow dancers of varying abilities to create choreography together.
•    Sharing the Spotlight: A theatre arts experience for children with and without disabilities with a focus on children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
•    Through the Lens: A film class for children with and without disabilities with a focus on children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

*VSA arts is an international nonprofit organization focused on creating a society where all people with disabilities learn through, participate in and enjoy the arts.

This program is made possible by the MetLife Foundation, VSA The International Organization on Arts and Disability, Lincoln Financial Services, Young Audiences Arts for Learning CT, and the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism, which also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.  Shared Ability Dance is funded in part by the Harry E.
