Charter Oak is the ideal place for meetings, receptions, parties, performances, private functions, lectures, bar & bat mitzvah’s and much more.

Sanctuary



The Sanctuary space is historic and beautiful, rich with history and framed with stained glass. Large and accessible, it is ideal for nearly any kind of function. From private family parties to huge eclectic music performances, the Sanctuary guarantees a memorable event.

This grand room has a stage area, dance floor and pew seating for approximately 150 people. The stage area is 1200 sq. ft (roughly 24’ x 53’) and our Bimah (small raised area behind the stage) is 240 sq. ft. (roughly 10’x20’).



Our Bose sound system works with the natural acoustics in the space to create a fantastic live sound. The professional lighting equipment and projector offer a variety of performance options. A baby grand piano is available for use at an additional charge.

Gallery



The gallery is a bright and open space ideal for viewing art or hosting an intimate gathering.



Chairs and tables can be set up as needed, seating about 50 comfortably, with standing room for approximately 75. The room is 910 sq. ft. Rough measurements are 26’ x 35’. The room contains a stereo system, access to a TV with VCR/DVD and a projector.

$165 per hour for the Sanctuary
$85 per hour for the Gallery
$20/hr for a house manager (required)*
$25/hr if you have technical needs such as lighting, sound, screen projection, etc.
$250 refundable deposit providing there is no damage to the building

Non-Profit
$80 per hour for the Sanctuary
$40 per hour for the Gallery
$20/hr for a house manager (required)*

*Please note that the House Manager and Technical Director may need to be present beyond the hours of a schedule event.

We offer:
- Wireless internet in both the Sanctuary and Gallery by request.
- A screen for slideshows or films.
- A full kitchen for food preparation at no extra charge.
- A dressing room with showers, by advanced arrangement.

Signed contract, $250 deposit and a copy of the insurance rider must be received within two weeks of the event to secure the date.

If you would like Charter Oak to accept advanced ticket sales and run box office, there will be a $150 charge.

You are welcome to bring in outside food and drinks. We would be happy to provide you with a list of our favorite caterers. If you plan to serve alcohol, details must be discussed in advance.
