Join us on December 9 for a closing reception and artist Q&A for Julia DePinto’s “Let Me See That Body,” curated by Neil Daigle-Orians.
Julia DePinto is a Columbus-based artist and educator. Her interdisciplinary practice explores the discourse of contemporary self-portraiture by combining traditional and experimental approaches to printmaking and photography with the tools of smart technology and design. Highly emotive self-portraits are used as a conduit for contextualizing social and political commentary, including the societal structures placed on women in advertising and digital spaces. DePinto’s work has been shown nationally in solo and group exhibitions including Boston University, Indiana University Southeast, Illinois State University, and Real Art Ways in Hartford, CT. Her work has been featured in Fresh Paint, Studio Visit, and Starry Night magazines. DePinto completed her MFA Interdisciplinary Studio Art at the University of Connecticut in 2014 and received a BFA in Printmaking from Wright State University in 2011. She is currently living as an Artist in Residence at Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont.
The closing reception and artist Q&A for “Let Me See That Body” begins at 6 p.m. For more information, call 860-310-2580.
