Art as Social Justice: Considering “Open House: Hartford”

IMG_2812In honor of Susan Hoffman Fishman and Elena Kalman’s site-spectific installation “Open House: Hartford,” Charter Oak Cultural Center is hosting a panel discussion inspired by the installation called “Art as Social Justice: Considering ‘Open House: Hartford’.”

The panel, which will include the artists, will explore the many uses of art as a tool to further the values of social justice and, specifically, how “Open House: Hartford” illuminates the meaning of home and issues surrounding homelessness in Connecticut.

The discussion begins at 7 p.m. in the Charter Oak sanctuary. The installation will be on view in the gallery beginning at 6 p.m. The event is free. For more information, call 860-310-2580 or visitwww.charteroakcenter.org.
