Charter Oak receives NewAlliance Foundation technology grant

urlGood news on the technology front!

Charter Oak Cultural Center has received a $7500 Technology Grant Program grant from the NewAlliance Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing financial support to charitable organizations addressing diverse community needs in the arts, community development, health and human services, and youth and education.

The money from the grant will be used to migrate our organization’s data and email from our existing server to a cloud-based server.

Our Windows Server has reached end of its life and will soon no longer receive support or updates from Microsoft. The NewAlliance  grant will allow us to migrate our email to Office 365, which offers nonprofits free cloud-based email, tech support and more. It will also provide us funds to purchase a new server which offers increased file sharing and data protection capabilities.

These upgrades will improve both in-office and remote access to our data and email.

The NewAlliance Foundation’s Technology Grant Program addresses hard-to-fund needs identified in the nonprofit community. These grants assist nonprofits in upgrading, maintaining or expanding their technology needs. NewAlliance Foundation recognizes the challenges nonprofits face in keeping their technology current and how vital technological currency is in carrying out their missions.

We’re looking forward to the upgrade and are grateful for the recognition from the NewAlliance Foundation.
